Why is paediatric first aid training important?

Accidents happen, and children are especially vulnerable. Every year, thousands of children are injured or become ill, and some of these injuries can be life-threatening.

Having paediatric first aid training can give you the confidence and skills to help a child in an emergency. It can also help you to reduce the severity of an injury or illness, and to prevent it from becoming worse.

What will you learn in a paediatric first aid awareness workshop?

In a paediatric first aid awareness workshop, you will learn the essential skills and knowledge you need to help a child or baby in an emergency, including:

• How to manage minor wounds
• How to respond and deal with choking
• CPR for babies and the recovery position
